Trees cult in artworks of Tolkien

Future creator of Oxford English dictionary and greatest writer of the age - John Ronald Roel Tolkien was born on 3rd of January, in 1892, in Bloemfontein town, which is in South Africa.
In 1896, together with his mother he relocated to little, but very beautiful village Sarehole (now Hall Green). Specifically, in the surrounding countryside of Sarehole, he became interested by the world of trees. He even spoke with trees. The most unforgettable and interesting trees are appearing in his artworks not by chance.
His attitude to Nature was amazing. There are no doubts that he was intuitively feeling that trees have soul, and he was perceiving trees as live creatures, which can understand and feel. For Tolkien, trees were one of the main life-giving entities and in “The Lord of the Rings” interventions of ents - live trees helps to save Midlands from disaster. He considered himself as a part of another world, and escaped to this world every time he had such opportunity.
When he turned 12, a tragedy has happened in his family. His mother died from diabetes (which was incurable by that time). Tolkien with his brother had to move to family relative, which took ward on them. It was very painful for him to leave beloved hills, plains and trees. His soul becomes torn and he increasingly understands that he could not be fully integrated with the world around him. He has been often looking for isolation and began draw. In his paintings he was reflecting trees and landscapes.
Sometimes, he was comparing himself with a tree. He behaved callously when his brother passed away - he refused to write the obituary. For himself, he wrote that when others died, he felt like the tree from which the leaves are falling. And the death of his brother was like a axe blow at the root.
Writing to one of millions of his followers, he said: “I like gardens, trees and fields, which are untouched by machinery; I smoke pipe and like good plain food (not frozen) and I hate French cuisine. I am crazy about mushrooms, those from the woods…”
