During the first two years after the publication of the book has gone through 61 edition, 240,000 copies have been sold by the end of the Second World War.
The second reprint of the book was published in 1936 and titled "Man and Sun: Aryan Olympic spirit."
Looking at this book is unlikely to arise in the spectator some vulgar thoughts about the photos of naturism: they wanted that the human body could be perceived not only as a sexual object, but also with a sacred meaning. The photographers without much hesitation let posing together men and women, their bodies are transformed, being in the bosom of nature. They are connected with the elements and take on a different perspective, it is absolutely impossible in our time prevailing liberalism and debauchery!
